Yao and her husband Cheng moved to HCM City from China and rented a house in District 5 to sell aphrodisiacs, sex toys, and Viagra between October 2005 and mid-2007.

A police raid on their house in Ward 11 last June found 40,000 fake Viagra pills, 3,400 packs of fake Cialis, and more than 3,000 sex toys. These goods were valued at more than VND1 billion (US$63,000).

The police said Yao had illegally imported the goods from Fujian, China and sold them to pharmacies and cafes in Districts 5 and 10. Apparently her husband fled and is still on the loose. Good luck with that!

The Department of Health (DOH) of the Philippines has ordered Life Prolong Natural Supplements Inc. to immediately recall the Penrex Herbal Supplement For Men from the local market after it was found to contain a known active ingredient of prescription drugs used for erectile dysfunction; Viagra (Sildenafil citrate).

In her memo, BFAD director Leticia Barbara Gutierrez said the agency examined samples of Penrex and found that they contained Sildefanil Citrate, a known active ingredient of prescription drugs for erectile dysfunction.

BFAD said the use of Penrex will be dangerous to consumers who have high blood pressure, heart diseases or diabetes.

Apparently there is no penalty for putting Sildenafil citrate into a item marketed as herbal and/or natural and not claiming the ingredients. You just have to recall the product.

This story is in sunstar.com.ph and pacificnewscenter.com, but niether mention any fine or other penalty for what was done.

Southern California Man Pleads Guilty to Trafficking in Counterfeit Viagra

2 01 2008

jail-man-in-jail-drawing

Appearing before United States District Judge Manuel Real, Frank Fu Jen Huang, 58, pleaded guilty to seven felony charges: guilt to conspiracy, four counts of trafficking in counterfeit goods and two counts of manufacturing and selling counterfeit drugs.

Bye bye Frankie.

By pleading guilty, Huang admitted that he imported counterfeit Viagra tablets that were manufactured in China.

Huang used “maildrops” and friends’ addresses to receive the shipments, four of which were intercepted by Customs officials. The four intercepted shipments together contained more than 30,000 tablets.

But importing the counterfeit Viagra from China was just the beginning. Once Frank got a taste of the money involved, he began to manufacture his own fake Viagra.

The total value of the counterfeit Viagra in Frank’s case, imported and made by Frank, is more than $5.65 million.

Frank Huang faces a maximum possible sentence of 51 years in federal prison.

This case was investigated by Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Criminal Investigation and United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Indian Doctor Smuggles Eleven Million Prescription Pills Into America

11 12 2007

Jail Cell Convicted Selling Viagra

Do you wanna live here?

Everytime I check news.google another Viagra crime is reported and another viagra criminal is going to jail.

Today’s viagra loser is Akhil Bansal, a 29 year old Indian doctor, who stands convicted of smuggling 11 million prescription pills from India and distributing them to 60,000 Americans. He didn’t just sell Viagra online, he supplied over 200 pharmacy websites with the illegal Viagra, (and other prescription pills). It was not a small operation, even his father, also a physician, and his sister back in India were part of his network, (both have been arrested). Combined the family trio took in over 8 million dollars.

How can someone smart enough to go through all that medical education and medical training be stupid enough to throw it all away? What was his motive? He’s a friggin doctor, wouldn’t that provide an income that would satisfy him? duh!

Adding insult to injury, he had a partner in America, but his partner struck a deal and became a star government witness against him.

Merry Christmas!

Jersey Pair Charged With Fraud In Viagra Case

9 12 2007

buy-viagra-drug-warning

Here we go again!

More dummies mixing Sildenafil citrate, (the active ingredient in Viagra), with a few inactive herbal ingredients and promoting it online as “Natural aphrodisiac Boom! Chinese herbal aphrodisiacs“. duh!

This one is called Boom!

“They called it Boom! and marketed it online as an herbal supplement used to enhance sexual performance — one that was less expensive and “probably far safer” than prescription Viagra. But the two New Jersey men who sold Boom! in the United States and around the world never mentioned the formula contained the active ingredient of Viagra, according to federal authorities in Manhattan, who arrested the men yesterday. ” - nj.com

The two men, identified by federal prosecutors and the FBI as Tibor Liska and Blake Bohinc were arrested near the end of November, but there are still websites selling this stuff like takeboom.com, aragonproducts.com, and boomenergy.com.

“And if you’re one of thousands worldwide who bought “BOOM!” over the Internet, dump your stash. Not only does the stuff come from regulation-deficient China, the active ingredient can have side effects including loss of vision, blood-vessel disease and even death.” - recordonline.com

later.

Huge Haul Of Deadly Indian Viagra Seized In London

4 12 2007

It was only a few days ago that I wrote about a fake Viagra operation in Uxbridge, west London, where we had a Pakistani woman taking internet Viagra orders from an accomplice in Pakistan then she would ship internationally, giving the package a British postmark. Now we have a huge shipment of illegal and fake Viagra seized in London’s Southall and in Hartlepool, north England.

London, Nov 18 (IANS) A large number of Viagra-style tablets produced in India but unlicensed for sale in Britain and the European Union have been seized by officials in London’s Indian-dominated area of Southall and in Hartlepool, north England. - mangalorean.com

The illegal, fake Viagra has been identified as being deadly for many people.

“Dubbed the ‘pills that kill’, anyone who has bought them is being urged to throw them away immediately, the British Broadcasting Corporation reported, adding the drugs being sold under the counter include Vigora, Proxyron and Kamagra and Kamagra oral jelly.” - ebiologynews.com

Why is so much Viagra being funneled through the England?

Viagra Thief Shuts Down Pharmacy

16 11 2007

viagra-pharmacy-robbed-viagra

A family run pharmacy in Marmaduke, Arkansas was robbed of Viagra and other drugs valued at more than $4,000 according to owner Kathryn Eddington.

“The thief was able to enter the Marmaduke Family Pharmacy through the roof, slipping through a very narrow 18″ wide entrance.” - kait8.com

They have a hole in their roof a foot and a half wide?

“The suspect spent 17 minutes in the store before alarms went off and police were alerted.” - kait8.com

They have a time delay alarm system?

Why am I being so cynical and suspicious? Well, first of all, Marmaduke is not a big town.

“Estimated population in July 2006: 1,172. Males: 534, females: 624″ - city-data.com

Obviously, some of those 1,172 are children not capable of such an act and certainly not knowledgeable of nor interested in Viagra

  • MARMADUKE HIGH SCHOOL (Students: 369; Grades: 07 - 12) - city-data.com
  • MARMADUKE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (Students: 404; Grades: KG - 06) - city-data.com

In fact, 773 of the 1,172 are children of school age leaving only 399 adults in the town.

So, how many suspects are there to track down?

I say business has been too slow for the owners to earn a good living. How can you make a good profit with just 399 adult customers in the entire town? So, I’m saying it was an inside job.

The plan: fake the robbery, collect some insurance money for the stolen merchandise, (viagra), add the Viagra back to inventory after things cool down, get sympathy and attention from the residents, and maybe even some state wide TV or newspaper publicity.

Oh yah, and get this. This family pharmacy in the sleepy town of 399 adults was robbed three times in just four months.

Here is the owner’s plea for sympathy:

“Since the tornado has gone through, this town has really had to struggling to rebuild and re-grow and we would really hate to think of what would happen to this community if the pharmacy were to close,” said owner Kathryn Eddington.”

/sniff/

yah right.
