Compra Viagra Magic!

In October of 2007, Earl wrote a great post about “compra viagra” and the SERPs, Comprar Viagra is Buy Viagra in Spanish. Earl pointed out the vast Spanish speaking demographics and the utter lack of SEO in the “comprar viagra” SERPs.

The following month, I opened my big mouth and said that “comprar viagra” should be easy pickin’s, Comprar Viagra SERPs Easy Target For Viagra Spammers and Viagra Marketers. In that post, I analysed the #1 site in the “comprar viagra” SERPs and laid out the criteria for a “comprar viagra” ranking test.

1. Take a brand new subdomain: comprar-viagra.atwebpages.com (it doesn’t get any cheaper).
2. Put any sort of crappy “comprar viagra” content on it. (I am good at crap content ;).
3. No hidden text, just solid SEO.
4. Drop a few links to it. (A few in my book would be like 500).

I had a few distractions here, but announced the beginning of the test on November 8th, with this post: Syndk8.net’s Comprar Viagra SERP Test Has Begun.

As it turned out, about 450 links were dropped into newly created, unused, blogs on free blog hosts.

The results of that test, as explained in my followup post: Blackhat Syndk8.net Dominates “comprar viagra” SERPs were that the test site ranked #1 for “comprar viagra” after about three or four days.

I have not touched the test site and I don’t even remember the login info; also I have not dropped any additional links. In fact, I had forgotten about the whole test until today when I saw a reference on another blog to Syndk8.com’s Comprar Viagra Test. For the hell of it, I checked the “comprar viagra” SERPs today and there it is at #4.

So, what’s the point? That Bompa is a magician? No, diesel breath, it goes beyond that.

1. Compra viagrar is an open niche for easy pickin’s.

2. Sites on free hosts such as atwebpages.com can rank fine.

3. A site can rank fine with just one page.

4. It’s possible to rank fine without any onpage trickery; hidden keywords etc.

5. It’s sometimes possible to rank fine with just links from newly created, free hosted blogs.

6. Getting 400-500 backlinks in a few hours will not, in itself, bring a penalty.

7. Not all good rankings will automatically fade away in time. It’s been several months since the test.

What the hell, maybe I’ll put a link on the test site to a pharmacy. Also, I think I still have the list of 500 blogs that I used in the test. Maybe I’ll drop links on them to this post.

This could get interesting.
