Appearing before United States District Judge Manuel Real, Frank Fu Jen Huang, 58, pleaded guilty to seven felony charges: guilt to conspiracy, four counts of trafficking in counterfeit goods and two counts of manufacturing and selling counterfeit drugs.

Bye bye Frankie.

By pleading guilty, Huang admitted that he imported counterfeit Viagra tablets that were manufactured in China.

Huang used “maildrops” and friends’ addresses to receive the shipments, four of which were intercepted by Customs officials. The four intercepted shipments together contained more than 30,000 tablets.

But importing the counterfeit Viagra from China was just the beginning. Once Frank got a taste of the money involved, he began to manufacture his own fake Viagra.

The total value of the counterfeit Viagra in Frank’s case, imported and made by Frank, is more than $5.65 million.

Frank Huang faces a maximum possible sentence of 51 years in federal prison.

This case was investigated by Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Criminal Investigation and United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
