Mountain View, California Pharmaceutical Company Hides Viagra in Two Products
2 12 2007
I first heard of the Viagra hidden in “natural” products from THE CANADIAN PRESS:
TORONTO - Health Canada is warning consumers not to use two supplements sold as natural erectile dysfunction products because they contain a prescription medication. The products, marketed under the brand names Axcil and Desirin, contain sildenafil. - canadaeast.com
Axcil and Desirin are two products manufactured by TWC Global, LLC, 530 Showers Drive, Suite 7-129, Mountain View, CA and marketed as natural treatments for erectile dysfunction (ED).
Axil has been widely promoted on the internet and can still be found easily with a search in Google.
One site we found at the #2 spot in Google healthpower.com made these amazing claims:
Axcil™ (GL49) is a scientifically formulated, breakthrough dietary supplement containing a proprietary standardized botanical extract that acts synergistically to promote erectile function and sexual desire in men.
Not coincidently, the first ingredient that healthpower.com lists for Axcil is L-Arginine which we have already written about as a possible Viagra alternative.
The main site for Axcil, www.axcil.com displays the following message:
“The Axcil and Desirin products are currently unavailable.
If you want to order Bonafil or Callix products, please call us at
650-575-0828, or fax your order to: 650-428-0451.We apologize for any inconveneince.”
TWC Global, the manufacturer has issued a recall for both products after being notified by the FDA that both products contain Viagra’s active ingredient sildenafil.
So, they didn’t know that their products contain Sildenafil?
I wonder how that could happen?
