It’s Official - Taking Viagra Could Cause Sudden Hearing Loss!

It’s not just Viagra, men taking other impotence meds for erectile dysfunction (ED) problems, such as, Levitra and Cialis are also at risk of losing their hearing. Viagra, Levitra, Cialis are in the PDE5 inhibitors category, another drug in that same category Revatio which contains the same ingredient as Viagra can also cause a sudden loss of hearing.
“We don’t know enough to say that it’s ironclad caused by the drugs, but we see enough to say we can’t ignore it either,” said FDA ear-and-nose specialist Dr. Robert Boucher.
The three impotence drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra as well as the pulmonary hypertension drug Revatio will carry the new warnings.
I had read earlier reports of this sudden hearing loss, (SHL), going back years, but I thought the whole issue had been brushed aside as insignificant. However, this past Thursday, October 18th, the FDA made their announcement that these three manufacturers Pfizer for Viagra and Revatio, Eli Lilly for Cialis, and GlaxoSmithKline for Levitra will need to put the possibility of sudden hearing loss on their drug’s labels.
